ABOUT OUR CHURCH As a congregation of The United Church of Canada, we at Beaumont United Church we identify with the need for retreat and escape from the demands of everyday life. We believe that we ourselves desire more spiritual learning and inquiry about life and faith in our own spiritual lives.
Our surrounding community expresses a need for respite from the world, looks for originality and a sense of control over their own choices. We think that this is an area where we can offer some much needed resources to our community out of the United Church perspective : inclusiveness, practicing equality of the sexes, a willingness to let people explore and ask questions, and an openness to learn about others, including other faiths. We would like to develop a spiritual learning forum where we could come together with others for learning and inquiry into spiritual practices and insights, as well as practical life and faith concerns and interests, including interfaith explorations and personal living strategies.
Beaumont United Church is a congregation of The United Church of Canada. The United Church of Canada is a unique union of several Christian denominations: the Methodist, Presbyterian, Congregationalist and Union Churches in Canada, plus the Evangelical United Brethren and the United Methodist Church in Bermuda. In acting on our beliefs, Beaumont United Church has a large impact on projects like the Dove Festival and the Sadako Crane Project for Peace. We have supported a member of the Poco-a-Poco surgical team to Ecuador, the Blanket Afghanistan Project, and Edmonton’s Bissell Centre. We support the work of the Mission and Service Fund of The United Church of Canada, which funds humanitarian projects in Alberta, Canada and around the world.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a member to attend? Please come, whether or not you are a formal member of the church. You don’t have to be a member of this church or any church to attend.
Do I have to be a member to receive communion? Ours is the practice of an open table. Everyone who is present during worship is invited to receive the sacrament of communion. We believe that the invitation to partake belongs to Jesus Christ, who calls all to come and experience the love and grace of God.
What do I have to do to be baptized or to have my child baptized? The occasion of welcoming a new member into Christ’s family through the sacrament of baptism is always a happy one for us. If you are inquiring about baptism, either on your own behalf or on behalf of your child, you will be invited to become part of a baptism preparation process. This process will lead up to a joyful celebration of baptism during a regular service of worship.
How do I become a member of Beaumont United Church? Our minister would be happy to talk with you about how to become a member of Beaumont United Church. The process varies depending on your existing church and faith ties.
